It’s like the whole “write what you know” thing. Well, we can’t write what we know if we don’t know anything yet! As writers, we can’t cut ourselves off from the world and hide in our shells. We’d have nothing to write about! We need to go out in the world and discover new things that are worth knowing so that we can write about them.
